Who are you?
Hello! My name is Cory Boyd, and I founded Does Not Scale LLC in 2025.
I have been a computer geek for as long as I could use the things. I also love helping people, so starting my own consulting agency was simply inevitable 😄
What drives me
I love figuring out how things work. I derive a zen-like enjoyment from taking things apart, accidentally breaking that one super important piece, researching what to do about it, waiting two weeks for a replacement part to arrive in the mail, and putting them back together again.
When it came time in my life to choose a career... well, honestly, I wasn't sure about computers yet, because I was eighteen years old and didn't know anything. However, after my first year of college Computer Science courses, I knew it was my calling.
I am fascinated by what we can accomplish with computers. The feeling of creating something out of nothing is as exhilarating as it is empowering. Having an exact problem and coding a computer to solve it for you is incredibly rewarding.
Life outside of work
I maintain a wild rotating cast of various hobbies and activities to satiate my neverending desire to learn and grow. Throughout my time on this earth, I have been, and when the inspiration comes knocking, continue to be:
- A video game programmer and designer
- A music producer
- A piano and bass guitar player
- A bicycle rider
- A mead brewer
I'm always throwing new things into the list, get to know me and I'm sure I'll tell you about it!
I would be remiss to omit my pets from this section! We have three cats, Lady, Willow, and Lando (as in Calrissian, of course), and the newest addition to the family, Maple!
